Introducing Weekly Fare Capping – from the 10th of November 2025!
At Cardiff Bus, we’re always looking for ways to make travel simpler, fairer, and better value for our customers. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of weekly fare capping – a new way to pay for your bus journeys that ensures you never pay more than you need to.
How it works
If you travel regularly using contactless Tap On, Tap Off, your fares will automatically add up throughout the week. Weekly fare capping applies from Monday to Sunday each week. Once you reach the cost of a weekly ticket, you won’t pay any more for the rest of that week.
Important: To benefit from weekly fare capping:
You must use the same contactless card for every journey.
There’s no need to ask the driver for a paper ticket – just tap on at the start and tap off at the end of your journey.

This means:
- No planning ahead necessary – there’s no need to buy a weekly ticket in advance.
- Automatic savings – the system ensures you always get the best possible fare.
