Free travel for Military Personnel & Remembrance Sunday Diversions 2025

7 months ago Thu 6th Nov 2025

In honour of Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday, Cardiff Bus is offering free travel to those who have and are currently serving in the armed forces as a token of our gratitude of the service that these selfless veterans provide.

Customers travelling on Sunday 9th November 2025 dressed in military uniform or can provide proof of serving in the forces will be eligible to travel for free on our services*.

To further show our appreciation, 11am on Sunday 09th November, drivers will stop buses where appropriate and pause for 2 minutes to show their support for the national silence, in remembrance of those who lost their lives fighting for their country.

There will be some diversions, click here for more information

Gareth Stevens, Commercial and Operations Director at Cardiff Bus, said: “Many of our customers and staff have service personnel amongst their friends and family who will be travelling to various Remembrance events this week, and we are proud to be able to support them with free travel.

“We wanted to show a small token of our gratitude for their years of service and play a part in remembering those who have been lost in action.”

Lest We Forget

* Those with a TFW Concessionary Travel Card will still need to validate this on the bus ticket machine.
